Samuel Murray Carr

A little over a year ago I discovered information about my Gt-Gt-Grandfather Samuel Murray Carr that helped to explain why he used an alias during the time he was in New Zealand from 1867 to 1884. Shortly after arriving in the country he adopted the name Henry Wade Kurtain and even renamed his three children with Kurtain family names.  There has been a whiff of scandal attaching to what little was known of his story and and several speculative explanations have been circulating within the family over many years. I believe I have found the key to this mystery.  I am currently writing my material up in a form that will be made available to those cousins who want to know.

Contact me through this site if you want to be on the distribution list.

In the meantime click on the Samuel Murray Carr page to see the current state of progress.
