The San Francisco Chronicle reported in 1877 that Mrs Eunice Carr had come to San Francisco in search of her absconding husband Samuel Murray Carr and their three children:
A Sorrowing Mother
I have discovered that Eunice Carr remained in San Francisco for about three years before returning to the east where she died in Boston on 15 May 1881 of pneumonia. Her residence in San Francisco is attested in the City Directories for 1878, 1879 and 1880 which record three different addresses and that her occupation was ‘nurse.’
In the 1880 listing she is shown with the initial K (for Keller).
